Personality:

Easy going and cavalier, not much really gets to Rikuto. He is the essence of 'being at peace,' and has been known to be an air purifier of sorts. Whenever he is in the room, tension tends to smooth out, and he is excellent and quelling anxiety and apprehension. He was raised in a very soothing and calm home, which probably added to his personality. This also means that he is very quiet -- fewer the words, the better, and only moreso when he is in large groups, or around unfamiliar people. If you're alone with him, though, he is much more likely to throw in his two cents, and speak up more frequently. This ends up making him to be a rather boring person to hang out with, thus he doesn't have any friends.

Rikuto's facial expressions, on the other hand, are rather excellent. He shows a wide variety of faces depending on the situation, and they tend to speak for him in place of actual words. This is especially so with his actions as well. After all, 'actions speak louder than words.' He will try to do a lot of good for those around, though his efforts many times going unnoticed. Whether it's getting in the way of someone who is about to crash into something and taking the fall instead, or standing close to someone to block the cold wind against them. A small good deed a day helps Rikuto feel better about himself and the world, and hopefully helps makes another persons day just a little bit better

Along with his rather zen personality, Rikuto also finds comfort and ease in taking walks around in the wilderness where the city noises don't reach. He never liked much living in loud bustling towns, but tolerated it since he couldn't very well argue with his parents about moving. However when Rikuto can't find time to go outside and wander about on long walks, he is almost always sure to be found on his back porch. He will either be staring off into the distance day dreaming, or he will be practicing either his violin or cello. On a rare occassion you might hear the faint sounds of him playing piano indoors.

History:

Rikuto has a very close relationship with his parents, being an only child. When he was young, he would go on long walks during the day with his father and talk about life, religion, the universe, and anything else anyone could think of, which led to his love of long walks, and nurture his love of nature and astronomy. His father taught him many things about life and the world, giving words of wisdom often. They would stargaze at night, and watch lightning during a thunderstorm. Rikuto's father is one of the few people he can be openly chatty with, holding long and meaningful conversations.

His mother was the one who taught him about music. Knowing that Rikuto got along so well with his father due to their walks, she encouraged a love of music in him as her own connection with him, and he fell in love with the thought of playing after watching his mother so many times. His mother played cello when she was young, and taught him to play as well. When first learning, his mother bought a violin for him to learn the basics at the age of seven. She taught him piano slowly in their living room, letting him take his time learning as he wished. Steadily, as he became more adept at playing the instruments, his mother finally allowed him to begin learning cello in middle school. Since learning the cello, and inheriting his mothers that she used to play, he has found a much deeper connection with it and plays it far more often than his violin. He tends to be rather shy about playing his instruments around others, but will always play when his mother requests he do so, now that she is no longer able to play herself. Due to a degenerative nerve disorder, she is in a wheelchair and cannot control her fingers or hands properly to play, and barely gets around her own home. She is taken care of by a nurse during the day when his father is away at work.

As a younger child, at the end of his elementary school eyars, Rikuto endured an accident protecting one of the younger, smaller, boys in his class. There was a known high school gang who's base was very close to the elementary school that Rikuto attended. Unfortunately, the gang was known for harrassing the children while they were out either playing or walking home. Having been invited to play down by the riverbank with a handful of the other kids, a few of the teenagers from the gang decided it would be a wonderful idea to begin antagonizing the children. Just as one of the boys was about to be kicked down, Rikuto covered his classmate, enduring the blow. Having done so, this lead the group of teenagers to begin harrassing only Rikuto, while the other children left. They ended up burning their cigarettes into his back and dragging him along the gravel paved road near the riverbanks side, dragging him back to the front of the elementary school and dumping him there before running off. A passerby had found Rikuto on the ground and sent him to the hospital, where they were able to treat the wounds on his back. Rikuto was able to inform the doctors of his name and where he lived, where they notified his parents, who rushed to the hospital to help care for him. Due to this, Rikuto now has severe scarring on his backside and on parts of his sides, which is the reason why Rikuto never takes off his shirts in public, and refuses to swim without a shirt on.

He holds a part time job at the local library, organizing and re-shelving books. It's convenient, requiring little spoken from him, and it's quiet and easy for him to do.

Trivia:

:bulletwhite:He doesn't enjoy being touched much, unless you are exceptionally close to him
:bulletwhite:He rarely gets angry, but when he does -- it's not a sight that is pleasant
:bulletwhite:He's always truthful to the people that matter to him
:bulletwhite:Rikuto plays three instruments -- violin, cello, and piano
:bulletwhite:His hair is generally always messy, and he doesn't brush it much. It gets on his mothers nerves, and he gets frequent haircuts to manage it. It also grows at a very fast rate, and will get long before he notices. He doesn't much care what it looks like.
:bulletwhite:Loves feeding birds in the park -- it's something that fills time up on the weekends and to do when out on a walk
